Great North Air Ambulance Service

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) provides pioneering pre-hospital care to the North East, Cumbria and North Yorkshire, rescuing hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year.

Receiving no government funding, the charity relies entirely on public donations and corporate support to continue its life-saving service. As part of its fundraising efforts, GNAAS welcomes used clothing donations through its Trading Company which has been running since 2004.

The Trading Company has long been based in Newton Aycliffe but has now relocated to sit alongside the charity’s head office staff and critical care team at Progress House in Urlay Nook, Eaglescliffe.

GNAAS required additional storage space for any overflows of clothing donations and reached out to us to supply two 20ft One Trip Shipping Containers.

The units were delivered in December ready to support the phased move and to ensure that the clothing recycling team would be fully operational in their new home by January.

We chose to use Cleveland Containers because it’s a local business and we want to support companies in the North East and Cumbria. The service we’ve received from them has been brilliant, from initial enquiry to delivery and aftercare. We were informed in the morning of the time the containers would be delivered, which was extremely helpful as we needed to make sure the helicopter was moved out of the way. A great experience from start to finish!
