The Farm Business Innovation Show promotes the benefits of farm diversification, inspiring many landowners to consider new ventures to increase their profitability.
Over the two-day show, farmers, landowners, and agricultural professionals visited the Cleveland Containers stand to explore new revenue-generating opportunities through innovative container solutions and self storage diversification.
Attendees were eager to learn how BOX+, our tailored support service, could assist them in establishing and growing a self storage business. BOX+ connects new and existing operators to industry suppliers and aids growth through exclusive offers and guidance.
On our stand we had representatives from BOX+ suppliers: Approved Business Finance, DSOC, ET Planning, and YBA PPC who discussed finance, security, planning permission and Google advertising, respectively.
It was brilliant to sponsor the Farm Business Innovation Show for another year, helping farmers and landowners explore new ways to grow. Through our BOX+ service and innovative container solutions, we're making it easier to turn unused land into profitable, low-maintenance self storage businesses. The self storage industry is thriving, and we're eager to help more people tap into this opportunity for sustainable growth.
Lewis Pennicott, Marketing Director at Cleveland
As sponsors of the keynote theatre, Cleveland Containers hosted packed sessions on both days with the much-anticipated panel presentation: ‘Self Storage: The Ultimate Hands-Free Business’.
Lewis Pennicott, Marketing Director, was joined by Gavin Shields, Founder and CEO of Stora, Ant Hebblethwaite, Sales Manager at DSOC, and Emily and Ben Temple from ET Planning, who shared insights into transforming unused land into reliable income sources with low-maintenance, secure self storage units.
The panel of industry experts discussed the essential areas to consider when launching a profitable, hands-free self storage business, such as planning, security, and remote management software.
On the exhibit floor, our display of two stacked 20ft shipping containers — including a specially modified multistore unit with four individual sections — attracted attention for its practical versatility and revenue-boosting benefits. Multistore units can generate up to 70% more revenue than a standard unit because of the ability for four customers to share one space.
The team engaged with numerous visitors who were inspired by examples of former farmers who have successfully transitioned into self storage with the support of Cleveland Containers.
The self storage industry, with last year’s turnover reaching £1.08 billion, continues to expand and offers an ideal opportunity for farmers and landowners to diversify their businesses by utilising spare land to generate additional income.
Following the show, we are excited to connect with these potential customers and support their business ambitions with BOX+, helping them transform their land for sustainable growth.
