Five self storage operators will be heading to the Mercure Telford Centre Hotel on the evening of Monday 15th April to present their business plans and ambitions to a panel of industry experts in front of a live audience.
Storers’ Den, an exclusive event hosted by Cleveland Containers, Stora and Approved Business Finance (ABF), will see one fortunate operator win a self storage support package worth over £50,000 to help accelerate their growth.
We invited self storage businesses that had been operating for less than three years to apply for the competition. The ‘dragons’ who will be quizzing the final five on the night and offering their services are Lewis Pennicott (Cleveland Containers), Gavin Shields (Stora), Rory Dunn (ABF), Laura Moxham (YBA PPC), Anthony Adams (Engage Management Services) and Dean Booty (StoreMore).
After careful consideration of all applications, the ‘dragons’ are delighted to announce the five finalists vying to be the champion of Storers’ Den.
Store Ease
Our only ‘indoor storage’ finalist, Store Ease was formed by the long-standing manager of a removals company who could see the benefits of the storage industry. Securing a site and constructing their own units, over 100 rooms were formed. Store Ease aim to increase marketing efforts to improve brand awareness.
Norbreck Self Storage
The family behind Norbreck diversified farmland purchased in 2022 to create both indoor and outdoor storage facilities. With their first site launching in late 2023 and a steady stream of customers, Norbreck aspire to purchase other sites and offer multiple storage services.
Ancoats Storage
Ancoats began by offering university students a complete door-to-door service, collecting and storing their goods during the summer. The business developed when they sourced their own plot of land and utilised shipping containers to serve the public. Ancoats aim to fully automate access and double stack the units.
Hoylake Storage
Owner Lewis transformed the land his grandad previously owned for over 50 years fron which he ran a haulage firm. After launching the website for Hoylake, Lewis was inundated with enquiries and purchased his first shipping containers in January 2023. The goal for Hoylake storage is to fill the site and explore options to fund further expansion.
Storage Den
Storage Den is a relatively new facility based in Aberdeen and is the only one to offer keyless entry in the city. Offering indoor and outdoor services, the plan for Storage Den is to invest in social media advertising to increase online presence and streamline processes for customers.
